It combines core project management principles with specialist insights into renewable technologies ensuring learners gain both transferable and sector-specific expertise.
A key strength is its focus on real-world application, through case studies and practical scenarios, learners explore the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects, such as planning, risk & value management and stakeholder engagement.
Students also develop a holistic understanding of how to balance sustainability goals with financial and operational realities, an essential skill in delivering successful renewable energy projects.
With a clear industry focus, this module features fireside chat insights from Canadian and Scottish renewable energy experts: Ontario Power Generation (OPG), Southern and Scottish Energy (SSE) and Statkraft.

Applicants should be working within a relevant professional role and ideally possess Level 6/7 qualifications, such as 2 Scottish Highers at grade C or above, or equivalent.
Applicants with other relevant qualifications or experience will also be considered
You will develop a strong understanding of both the programmatic and financial aspects of project management, including:
- The project management lifecycle and programme management
- Stakeholder analysis and effective communication strategies
- Risk and value management in renewable energy contexts
- Practical action planning tools, including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
- Use of industry-standard project planning software (e.g. MS Project)
- Decision-making and performance monitoring techniques
- Budgeting and project cost management

Can I progress into further study?
On successful completion of this module you will achieve 20 degree credits at Level 8 (HND level), you may want to complete the two further modules (Ethical solutions for global business and Responsible leadership and management for organisational performance) to achieve the CPD Responsible Leadership and Management for Contemporary Business course.
